WOW, I need to start this blog out by saying that I had no idea that there were so many Web 2.0 tools! The Go2Web20 list was quite long. I researched a site called HighlightCam. Create an Awesome Video Montage in just a few clicks is what it says on there web site. This caught my eye. I teach video production class at our local high school. I like to try new things in my classroom. This is a perfect opportunity for my class to receive a different kind of feedback about the videos that they create. The idea behind the website is to upload your raw video files and audio files to HighlightCam.com, they will somehow evaluate the "highlights" and recreate a new, shorter, more watchable video. HC will also add your favorite music to the new video. That's cool. Yes I know what you are all thinking, aren't you students doing the editing of their own video's? Normally yes, I would like my students to send there footage to HC, let them create a highlight video. My students will also create a highlight video and then compare the two.
I created two short highlight videos using HC. I was relatively impressed with the process. Both videos were much shorter than the original footage. HC made it very simple to use. I am very excited to implement this into my classroom.
Sounds like a great tool. I'd be interested to see one of the videos you made with it. I've poked around Premier and Final Cut, but got confused. iMovie seems pretty easy now that I've used it alot.
