WOW, I need to start this blog out by saying that I had no idea that there were so many Web 2.0 tools! The Go2Web20 list was quite long. I researched a site called HighlightCam. Create an Awesome Video Montage in just a few clicks is what it says on there web site. This caught my eye. I teach video production class at our local high school. I like to try new things in my classroom. This is a perfect opportunity for my class to receive a different kind of feedback about the videos that they create. The idea behind the website is to upload your raw video files and audio files to HighlightCam.com, they will somehow evaluate the "highlights" and recreate a new, shorter, more watchable video. HC will also add your favorite music to the new video. That's cool. Yes I know what you are all thinking, aren't you students doing the editing of their own video's? Normally yes, I would like my students to send there footage to HC, let them create a highlight video. My students will also create a highlight video and then compare the two.
I created two short highlight videos using HC. I was relatively impressed with the process. Both videos were much shorter than the original footage. HC made it very simple to use. I am very excited to implement this into my classroom.

BP1_Welcome to Bryan Hammitt's First blog post EVER....
Hey every body. I am excited to try blogging!! First of all, my brain is over-loaded with ideas in how I can incorporate blogging into my classroom. The hard part is just starting. You know the old saying, " Painting is easy, 80% of the work is getting ready".
And yes I live where it gets really cold.... Northern Minnesota. I have pics of my trucks temp gauge says -40f and I love it. Why you ask? Because not to many other people do.
Share your cold weather stories with me!!
