Week 4 Final Video "Option 2" Short Documentary

a

Here is my week 4 final video for Emergent Technologies.  I opted for the Documentary "Option 2".

PE9_Working with Flash Selecting lines and shapes

In Flash using the selection tool (in the merged objects formate) you can select and manipulate the Fill, the boarder, or even half of an object to create your artwork.

Shapes and objects can be distorted, or molded.  much like working with clay, you can grab the edges of an object and move them to create a shape that you desire.
Flash is a very powerful tool.  since this is my first time using it I can say it seems user friendly.  I think that if I used it often, like any software a person could pick up on it quite easy.

PE8_Working with Flash Drawing Basic Shapes

Before you begin drawing shapes or lines in Flash, you must first select weather or not you want to use merge drawings or object drawings.  Object drawings are the original formate for Flash.  I did all my drawings in object drawing mode because the narrator on Lynda.com said to.  So I stuck with it.  I think that as I use Flash more.  I will be able to understand why I would use merge or object drawing mode.

I think that if you were good at flash you would be disgusted with my art work.  But this is my first attempt at flash and like anybody who has gone through Lynda.com training they may look similar.

PE7_Working with Flash

Ok,  Before This class I have never even heard of flash.  Opening and understanding what flash is, is a large part of this post.  Flash is a multimedia platform used to add animation, video and interactivity to web pages,  Flash is also used for advertisements and games.  Flash uses vector graphics to provide animation to text, drawings, and still images.  Flashes animations can be viewed on various computer systems and mobile devices. Flash is a part of the Adobe software package that I received through Fullsail University.  You can download Adobe Flash Player free of charge for most common web browsers and some mobile phones.  I have both an I phone and and Ipad, neither of them support flash the last time I tried.  I am using Lynda.com and watching the tutorials which is doing a great job of getting me started and learning the basics.
I have learned that flash creates FLA files and SWF files.  FLA is the Flash working file.  This is comparable to a Photo Shop file called PSD.  and the SWF type of file is comparable to a JPEG file.
I have created a new File here in flash and am editing the settings for a FLA file.  I set the stage size and background color to white.
I hope to learn all about flash so that I am successful in the upcoming months projects, that is why I chose to learn and Blog about Flash.

PE6_Google Docs, sharing your documents in Google Docs.

Sharing your Google Doc
Manage Projects, Teams or Tasks Share Files Online.  Google Docs is an excellent way to collaborate with individuals or group of people.  When sharing a file with google doc. you can give permission to allow the people that you send it to to be able to either view or even edit the document.  The part that I have been most impressed with is that if everybody is online and all looking at the document you can edit it, together. Then all agree on the finished product.
I have not got the chance to try using this outside FSO.  I do plan on using it to collaborate with the other Tech teachers in my school.  We share documents quite often back and forth, but they are usually paper copies and it takes quite a while to all agree and come up with a final piece.

PE4_Google Docs, Learning to Create a New Doc

Here I am learning to use Google Docs.  Lynda.com tutorials have help me to understand even the most basic concepts of google docs.  I started out by learning how to create a new document load it into a folder and label everything.

On the main Goggle Doc interface select the Create New Tab on the left side of the screen.  This is a drop down menu.  Here you can select any type of document that you like.  For example, blank word documents, spreed sheets, presentations, drawings and even a folder for organizing.

Here I have created a new doc.  The range of tools to edit your document is quite extensive.

Next,  I will create a folder to place all my unshared documents in.

Select Create New File.

Name the File.

Save

Here you can see the list of folders that I have. There is only one, but it is a folder.

Google Docs enables multiple people in different locations to collaborate simultaneously on the same doc from any computer with Internet access.  And better than the software you’d have on your desktop, you can access them from anywhere you access your Gmail – so no worries about computer crashes or leaving a paper at home.
